App license and store terms

The license presented through the App Store governs your use of the app. Unless a custom license is supplied with the app, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies. Apple’s Media Services Terms also govern transactions through its store. Official links are provided below.

This page explains the product and support scope; it does not replace the applicable store license or remove rights you have under consumer law. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own included notices and licenses.

A game, not a navigation or certification service

Tack Lab offers simplified virtual sailing practice. Its boat, coastal worlds, weather and controls are not a calibrated model of a particular real vessel, a real chart or a live weather service. It does not cover all safety procedures, traffic rules, rigging or emergencies.

Do not rely on the app to navigate, operate a real boat or make safety decisions. Course completion does not certify competence. Learn real sailing on the water with qualified instruction.

Free access and a one-time Pro purchase

Free content includes the first two lessons, basic Open water and the first Lantern Harbor passage. Pro unlocks the remaining four lessons, eight harbor passages and daily practice. Daily wind settings are generated from the local date; they are not real-time weather.

Pro is a non-consumable in-app purchase, not a recurring subscription. Available pricing and purchase terms are shown by Apple before confirmation. Access depends on a verified eligible entitlement; a refund or revocation can remove Pro access. Free content remains available.

Purchasing and restoring may need a connection and an Apple Account. Refund requests for Apple-billed purchases use Apple’s process; eligibility is determined under the applicable policies and law. No refund outcome is guaranteed by this site.

Local records and voluntary sharing

The app is not a cloud archive. Local limits are 12 recent saved voyages, up to the last 20 minutes per replay and one recovery checkpoint. Deletion, removal of the app or device loss can make records unavailable; any system backups are controlled by your device settings.

Share only information you are entitled to share. Check screenshots, reports and attachments before sending them. Support correspondence and website requests are handled as described in our privacy policy.

Website and support

Use this website for product information and support. Do not misuse its contact details to send harmful content or attempt to interfere with the website’s operation. Links to Apple and Cloudflare lead to services governed by those providers’ own terms.

We may correct product information and update these terms as the app changes. This page does not promise continuous website availability, a particular support response time or features beyond those described for the relevant app version.
