The game runs locally

Tack Lab does not require a game account, display ads or use third-party behavioral analytics. The app does not send your gameplay records or practice counters to a developer server. Sailing, progress and replays work locally.

The game does not request access to your real location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. Positions shown in voyages are coordinates in fictional game worlds, not your physical location.

What the app keeps on your device

Older replay files are removed as the 12-voyage limit is exceeded; lesson achievements are stored separately. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple and device settings. Tack Lab does not provide its own cloud account or replay-sync service.

  • Preferences, lesson attempts, achievements and progress.
  • Up to 12 recent saved voyages, including simulated boat states, controls, route progress and coaching events. Each replay retains up to the most recent 20 minutes.
  • One recovery checkpoint for an unfinished voyage. A new checkpoint replaces the previous one; saving a voyage clears that checkpoint.

Optional practice counters

Practice counters are off by default. If enabled in Settings, they count starts, first successes, completions, help and replay use on this device. Recent local voyage/event keys prevent duplicate counting. They do not measure purchase conversion or record your real location.

Turning the option off deletes these counters. You can choose to share a text summary through the system share sheet; it is not sent automatically.

Local technical logs

The rendering engine and native-to-engine bridge also write local startup, runtime and error information for troubleshooting. It can include the device model, engine version, timestamps, rendering configuration, local file paths, simulated session state and error messages or stack traces. These technical logs are separate from the optional practice counters and are not automatically uploaded.

Some technical files replace the previous status; event and error files can accumulate. They do not use the logbook’s 12-voyage or 20-minute limits. The progress-reset button does not clear all engine or bridge logs. Removing the app removes its installed local data; device backups and copies you have shared are managed separately.

Apple purchases and diagnostics

Apple processes Pro purchases and restores through StoreKit. The app reads Apple-verified transaction and entitlement information to unlock content or reflect a refund or revocation. We do not receive your payment-card details through this process. Purchasing or restoring may require a connection and your Apple Account.

Apple handles its store, payment and operating-system services under its own terms and privacy information. System backups and diagnostic sharing depend on your Apple settings. These are separate from Tack Lab’s local practice counters.

Deletion and sharing

Use Settings → Delete all progress & replays to clear the app’s local profile, voyage records, recovery checkpoint and optional counters. This does not clear all engine or bridge logs. To delete one saved voyage, press and hold its Logbook entry and choose Delete local replay. Deleting the app removes its installed local data; copies in device backups or destinations you previously shared to must be managed separately.

Deleting local progress does not cancel or refund Pro or erase your Apple purchase. Restore purchases uses the same Apple Account’s eligible entitlement; it does not recover deleted voyage files.

Reports leave the app only when you choose a system sharing action and a destination. Review the text or attachments before sending. The receiving app or service then handles that copy under its own policies.

Website requests and cookies

This website is delivered through Cloudflare. Loading it requires processing request information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser or network details to deliver pages, protect the service and investigate errors. This is separate from your local game records; visiting the website does not upload those records.

We do not add advertising, behavioral analytics, tracking pixels or scripts that set tracking cookies to this site. Cloudflare security or traffic-management features may use necessary cookies when those features are active. That is not a promise that every website request is anonymous or that no technical data is processed. Cloudflare’s official privacy and cookie information is linked below.

When you contact support

If you email tacklab@txyou.com, we receive your email address, the name shown in your email, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer the request and investigate the reported issue. Email providers necessarily process delivery and storage of that correspondence.

Send only what is relevant. Do not send passwords, verification codes, full payment-card details or unrelated personal information. Screenshots and reports may contain details you should remove before sharing.

Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle the request, related follow-up and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Infrastructure and email providers also apply their own retention policies. You can ask us to delete correspondence we hold, subject to applicable obligations.

Questions and choices

Contact tacklab@txyou.com to ask about, correct or request deletion of personal information you have sent us, or to exercise rights available under applicable law. We may need enough information to identify the relevant request. We cannot remotely read or erase the game records stored only on your device.

If our data practices change, we will update this policy and its date. The app’s local-data statements do not replace the separate policies of Apple, Cloudflare or a service you choose when sharing.
